Cavadanaugh sniper - wastelander quest

I've killed the sniper in the Cavadanaugh region (located just inside the SW reaches of the convoy route that strays into the Chalkies) related to the quest that the wastelander gives (reward: "Loot") but can't find a way to enter the top of the rusted out ship hull where he was. Anyone familiar with this area, and how to get up there to the shinies?

I too, had this, but made the mistake of taking the guy out from maximum range, didn't realize there was loot to be had, so either look for narrow pathway to squeeze into, places to climb, or if it looks halfway passible, nitro up there with the car.

There's no path; it's elevated... and nothing to climb. It's also sort of shielded from the outside by the skeleton of the ship, so the car has nothing to land on. I'm at a complete loss on this one.

As to the loot, I only had that knowledge from the wastelander encounter, and (I guess?) maybe it could have been added after the mission success notify popped.

This was the sniper the wastelander talked about, but no further encounter was drawn from that quest. I can't see how to determine if the quest was rewarded in the log... maybe the reward is automatically tallied? I guess I could have just missed the reward ticking.

I'd assumed there would be a lootable since the encounter text seeemed to indicate that.

I'll keep looking around, but Gutgash is now 0 threat for me and all but 2 griffa tokens and some Angels in Deathraces complete. With survey crew built, I don't see any remaining encounters except one that isn't unlocked yet, and there's no one around the place I got the quest, that I can see.

Maybe if you see another post like this one, please link it here, and I'll do same.

Nope, no recollection at all, other than it wasn't too far, and maybe to the west somewhere outside the convoy route. It's been a couple of days since I got it, sadly.
