Or you could watch a couple of youtube vids on the game instead if you wanted.
Basically the game world is a wasteland. Max is on a mission to make a long journey somewhere, but to do so he needs fuel.
Then he runs into trouble, which is how the game starts. From there it's basically doing what he needs to do to survive etc..
Personally, I love the game and keep returning to it from time to time. The voice acting is pretty good, as are the graphics. There is a lot of fighting involved, either on foot or in the car, and of course you get to blow crap up lol
The fighting is fairly easy, same as in Batman really...
That's the main gist of it anyway, hope it helps...
Timeline wise, it fits just before Fury Road, so if you wanted you could play the game then watch Fury Road afterwards.
BTW, the original three Mad Max films aren't related to the Fury Road universe, so while they're good movies and worth watching, they aren't connected to the game except for the name of the protagonist and the car. Kind of like how there are many different Batmans.
You don't really need to know anything about the Mad Max lore other than taking a liking to the setting.
Absolutely. I like imagining what those different regions have looked like in good times. Above and under the water surface.
People who criticize the landscape as boring seem to have missed the differences…
The game is a trip. Although, the actual evolution of the movies is pretty crazy as well. Mad Max to Fury Road is something. Amazing how many people haven't seen the original, just the Hollywood movies that came later.
