Storms are stupid

K so generally I really like this game, but the storms are just bad design. Every time one comes up, I just duck into the nearest shelter and wait. That's all that happens. That would be OK if it was something that only lasted 20 seconds, but they last like 5-10 minutes of real time, so I usually end up getting up and making myself a drink or browsing the web or feeding my quail or something and then I come back and it's still storming.

Please if there's a sequel to this game, cut this stupid mechanic.

Storms are great for loot, It’s been a long time since I played but I remember them being pretty intense and over quick if you drive around getting boxes. Idk if they are worth it though at a higher lvl

Can't you just fast travel to a stringhold to end the storm?

I thought they where awesome. If you don't like them just fast travel asap... the hunchback always gives you a heads up.

It's possible to out run them before they hit....I've done it...just go in opposite direction

Seems to me you have storms under control. Surely your quail is happy when Gutbuckets hollers "Take cover!"

Storms are great for smoke breaks, just find a little corner to hide and roll it up.

Are you kidding? What could be cooler than beating the hell out of 8 guys in the middle of a storm, with debris flying dangerously around you and oil tanks exploding in the background? That moment in the game really defines the experience for me.

More directly, there's some good scrap hauls to be made in the midst of a storm, if you've the guts to go fishing for it.

IDK I kind of like Storms they really add an element of Danger to this "Hellscape" we're living in, honestly it's the only threat left at a point in the game once you and the car get beefy (once Chum is beefy forget it, not even storms are a threat). I can always duck into a friendly camp and end it if I really wanted to and I might do it if it's an electrical storm but over all it's just fun and the scrap hauls are nice

I feel its more of a high-ish risk high reward type of thing, You take damage out of the storm, And its hard to keep crates of supplies from blowing away, But If you manage to get a couple its well worth the trouble

Storms are absolutely awesome, don't know why you have such problems with it. First of all - why just hide? You can stay in your vehicle and actually if you keep driving fast one direction you can move out from the storm. Also you can get a lot of loot. Plus its very funny when you are fighting hand to hand with someone and he gets smashed and killed by flying debris. But yes I hope for the sequel as well. Or maybe developer could abide what they said about the Big nothing in several interviews - that it will be randomly generated, without any boundaries and you can just drive until you gets killed or you run out of gas. In another words I would have been satisfied if they add dlc where the Big nothing will be actually like that. Random enemies, environment, places. Basically every gameplay the game would be different. How awesome this could have been.

I was playing this game, clearly, you were not or you would have had moments like this as well. Moments like this are not rare, unless you're running off and hiding every time a twister blows in and avoiding epic brawls.
