Races are terrible because of the awful control of cars

Sorry to vent but the races really do ruin this game because the times are just outrageous for the piece of ♥♥♥♥ cars they make you use. I don't understand why they make the cars so horrible to control in a game that's 50% racing. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating to fishtail for absolutely no reason and lose a race because one mistake is all it takes. Does anyone know of a cheat engine table to freeze the timer?

I too, had an insane amount of trouble with the cars, I use Mouse & keyboard, but I stuck with it, and got used to it. All the cars handle different, fish tailing you say? try the Thirstcutter, lol. Keep trying, the game gets 200% more fun once you get the hang of it.

try driving a car on loose dirt going 70+ kph in real life, it is not easy

Not sure "how" you are driving, but driving in 1st person gives youa lot more control over the vehicles as compared to 3rd person. Only downside is that some of the vehicles are difficult to see out of eg the Speedsta's and some of the Buzzard vehicles.

Either way, the more exp you have with the vehicles will make it easier also...

Ic, it's mainly just the lower end cars that you have to race to get tokens for. Most of the other cars are fine.

Racing is awful. I can fly down any roads, off-road to a target, and make the most subtle, fluid movements to get exactly where I need to go.

Put me in a race, and suddenly my car has three left wheels. On ice. With butter on the ice. Covered in banana peels.

Well it can vary depending on which race and which vehicle. If driving the MO, and not as an Archangle it depends on how you have it set up.

Also as I mentioned above driving in first person makes it a lot easier, altho it may take a little getting used too.

Stick with it tho, the more experience to have driving the better you will be. You don't have a lot of hours in the game yet so don't give up :).

Weird, driving in first person view seems to be better in a few games where driving is involved.It almost feels like the car handles differently, it realy does make a huge difference.

Yes it does. 3rd person is like driving a car by remote control, but in 1st person your driving the car yourself. It handles much better as you have more control over it.

I'm afraid I didn't notice much difference in the handling between first and third person. Still rather awful.

Pinky Finger and Speed Demon Archangels, as well as a custom build of the Magnum Opus (V6, max power, max exhaust, medium armor, tires with 15% traction bonus on all surfaces, boost is two steps down from max, suspension 2 steps down from max).

I had some additional upgrades by the time I got to the Gastown race, but still almost ragequit (would have uninstalled the game too, I was getting that frustrated), but I stuck with it and got it after about a dozen tries. But my neighbors could tell you how frustrated I was. I even spent an hour or two beforehand just doing deathruns and taking out convoys to practice, but that didn't prepare me for the Gastown race.

Well as for Gas Town, most people in here say to lose all armour and grill and go for speed. I disagree as speed is your enemy in that race. Also with top speed and no weight to hold it on the road you tend to bounce and slide around too much, especially round corners.

After much experimentation I find the best setup for Gas Town race is;

Grill = Brawl Bar
Armour = Flim Flam
Exhaust = Best you have, pref Max
Tyres = Sandsliders
Suspension = Little Guy Lift

and at least 1 hood ornament for weapon damage eg. Talon.

Now as for you Opus, I would change tyres to Sandsliders or Dune Cups and lower suspension to either Little Guy Lift or Major Lift. Not sure why your using V6 if you have completed the Gas Town race but I know some ppl prefer the V6.

Pinky Finger and Speed Demon you can't alter so it's just a matter of learning thru exp as to how to handle them.

Was using the V6 because I just completed Gastown last night, and on the Deathruns I described I was running the V6. I am of course now running the V8.

ok, well with the V8 because of the xtra power I find its best to have heavy grill and armour and either Major Lift or Little Guy Lift Susp to keep it stable or you will lose control a lot if goind fast.

Thats my own advice anyway, I know some would disagree...
