You do realize that most of the early Castlevanias were straight up action games, right?
Games earlier than symphony of the night weren't enjoyable for me in the first place. It doesn't matter to me if it's a castlevania game, what matters to me is if it follows the general framework placed by symphony of the night (Aria of sorrow, dawn of sorrow, order of ecclessia, circle of the moon, etc..)
I know that Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow, and maybe some of those others are available on Xbox Live for Xbox 360, if you have that and are interested in replaying them.
I already own them all on the GBA and the PS1 (SOTN), i also recently bought the new 3ds along with all the DS castlevania games and i've been enjoying them a lot. This actually sparked my interest in this game and thus made me decide to post this question online.
