I started playing this game again to remember the story before diving into the other two games, because I've owned them for a long time but never played them.
So i'm on my second full playthrough for the story, and trying to have fun with it.
The combat mechanics actually are completely fine for the most part. Maybe I just suck at understanding specific things like block timings or what you can or cannot block, but blocking is my main issue with the combat.
What REALLY bugs me is user interface stuff:
-You cannot easily play through the game just for the story on a repeat playthrough, you have to remember which mission you did last.
-You cannot reset your save file information without going into system files.
-The game does not support multiple save files.
I'm sure there's going to be more things that piss me off as I play through this, but for now. it's just kinda mid.
Games like this are a good example for aspiring game devs to try to identify what works, and what doesn't work just through the gameplay experience.
Edit: Oh, I completely forgot to add why I checked the forums in the first place.
Not having a reward for the trials is stupid as hell. They should have just programmed it into the game, but not showcased it. I was extremely confused if they gave rewards at all for the trials until I looked up that they literally do not exist.
I was doing the trials thinking they gave rewards, now i'm just going to blatantly ignore them.
As I continue my 2nd playthrough, I'm slowly turning into much more of a hater myself.
These golem fights are just as awkward as I remember them being.
also the vampire where the fight just stops and he goes to heal 4 times with a whole small cutscene
do not get me started on the bit in the last few levels where you have to find a cave hidden in a small corner to get a titan key to progress the level
