Best moves to get?
I'm on my first playthrough and just started Chapter 4 and was wondering what are some of the moves I should be buying or saving up for? I have about 3000 experience right now and I think I will be purchasing the somersault counterattack next but I don't what else I should be getting...there's just a lot of different moves and relic magic attacks that I'm not sure which is going to be useful later on.

Focus on attack moves like direct heavy combo, guillotine upgrade, etc cuz now you want to get more kills successfully to keep buying combos. Also as soon as you have the battle concentration trait, buy the syncro counter upgrade, if you learn that move well enough you can fill the gauge everytime you want to keep feeding you magic tanks.
Blue magic is for defense, regaining your health back quickly with attacks like the corrosive chains, also it can deal some good area damage with the light arc cross, i forgot whats the name of that power but it works really good on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like vampires, werewolves and skeletons.

Ah, BTW the somersault is good when you fight big lonely enemies like trolls, but when you get surrounded (which is more likely to happen 95% of the time) better forget that and keep dodging.

Thanks so much man I really appreciate the help! I got corrosive chains but I haven't used it yet because none of the battles have been difficult enough where I have needed it but I'm glad I have it...will probably go for the light arc cross next like you said since I imagine I will be up against vampires and skeletons soon enough (I believe I'm about to fight the Crow Witch?).

Game has been really awesome so far, the intro to the boss fight with Cornell was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EPIC! Great voice acting and graphics.

Idk, I'm almost at the end and using the same basic attacks has worked for me. I think that's one of the complaints that many people had with this game.

Same here. The number of different special attacks and button combinations is overwhelming. I'm on Chapter 5 and still dodging and attacking with X and Y most of the time, with some basic light and shadow magic thrown in.
