Alot of times, this is do to sli multiple video cards or radeon video cards from amd.
So far with almost any game, my EVGA Geforce 670 GTX FTW Edition that was $410 dollars back in December 2012, doesn't have these issues.
I've seen people talk about black textures or the screen going black in several games the past year now, aliens: colonial marines, the walking dead, and you can find the forums for them, if you need some more advice on the situation or a solution, this is because of a few of those issues, also make sure your video card drivers are up to date, and you can try my guide.
Check out this thread I was just in, my guide can be found if you go to the link, found under my comment is one that leads to just one other, and then my guide.

i just wanted smoother edges in my game
Yes I know as I was pointing out, it's a radeon issue. But check my guide as you can still get some really nice helpful stuff, even if you know most of it, it's good to check out still.
Deleting the cookies was ment for a purpose of removing lag from other games, not every fix in there is going to do the same thing, or it would be one small sentence or paragraph for the guide.
It fixes multiple issues, I would think you were brighter than that.
But I guess the rest of the guide probably made no sense to you either, which means I am wasting my time arguing.
And there is a reason it is meant to fix most common issues, that is if you have a pc, and not a mac, and that your pc is compatible enough, and for many years, it has always been this way, for millions of games, billions of gamers, as it fixes most issues with a compatible pc, if your hardware isn't compatible, blame your manufacturer, not my guide.
I only gave you enough for your radeon to help you with fixing a huge % of the problems you can have which solves just about everything on the radeon, but it doesn't solve incompatible issues that video card has with games, that's common sense, and a good reason to have a geforce video card no less than a 600 series.
and before you say its me
my Visual c++ stuff is all up to date, my flash and java is up to date, my directx and graphics card drivers are up to date and the rest of the guide just talks about anti virus, deleting cookies and compatability mode which doesnt help my issue at all
The guide was made for many games, not one so that it fixes many common issues with single player and multiplayer all in one, for the reason it talks about the cookies and a few other things, as deleting the cookies helps remove lag and logins from website, as well as removes malicious cookies, back on dial up/56k, many years ago, even a little bit of cookies would cause lag in game servers, and they can cause other issues as well, as I had the experience long ago of those results, the less lag the better in multiplayer gaming, even to remove viruses, if you had read the comments on the bottom of the guide though I explained some of that part, even the flash plays a part as steam uses the plugin, where as if you get both, you have the activex for your browser and the plugin, which you can find in your control panel, your flash shows both and the versions, this helps keep steam stable, in the past, years ago, I had issues with steam and came to find this out, as steam uses another version of the flash. This also all around helps your pc with websites and other issues as well, even with flash games.
It even talks about the motherboard drivers, depends on your system though, as long as it isn't a mac, then yes you should have the latest motherboard drivers, and the reason I don't go over this, is because each motherboard can be different, especially for built in hardware like video cards, this people have to find out on their own.
The compatibility mode helps alot of people, with many issues, it doesn't work for every game, and everyone's pc is different, one might need it, where as another player won't.
Also for the sli multple video cards issue, alot have had this and I helped them fix it, it doesn't mean you have it, as the guide wasn't made for just you.
It is always best to have your drivers up to date as the guide explains, even with video drivers, as it wasn't made just for you, it was made to help everyone, that doesn't mean it will fix every issue, it will fix most common issues, required you have a pc and not a mac, or in some cases it can help laptops but not the most since laptops are limited as well with built in hardware, or uncommon hardware, and so it's going to fix a pc compatible hardware for gaming, such as a built pc like my computer, which is common.
I try my best man, the guide is unorganized but it is solid as far as helps others with accurate info, and it does for most common issues, but as I mentioned, radeons are not always compatible video cards, but then not everyone is going to have the same issue in the same game either, some might, but more of a population won't in some cases, with the same hardware, or without, this is why the guide doesn't have a mix for everything, as there is no reason to post comments about macs, that would be unnecessary, and I haven't had a mac in many years since I was little, to help mac users, that and there almost is no way to help them, as everything is compact, once you get an error on them, it's almost impossible to remove, just like back on unreal tournament in early 2000, the pc was the best choice over a mac. I am sorry that the guide can't help you fix your radeon issue, but that is to be expected with that video card, and another reason plenty might get that same issue as well with that video card.
I know the evga geforce gtx 670 ftw edition is a bit expensive, but try it out, save up for it like I did each month, or go with the new geforce 700 series if you want, yes my system is an amd motherboard, it's too bad amd went with radeon after they bought out ati to get their video cards... I like the combo of amd processors with a geforce video card, I haven't had any issues yet with the geforce 670 gtx, except that I seem to run out of video ram on minimum number of games that are new, such as hawken or mech warrior online, or even orion - dino horde, as I do have win 7 ultimate 32 bit and plan to upgrade to the 64 bit that is sitting in the corner once I have a new harddrive soon that is around $240 dollars, the velociraptor which is the fastest harddrive, I used 32 bit because of old application compatibility, haven't had an issue with any game out there other than out of video memory on 2 gigs video ram, although the video card can be found on newegg.com if you were wondering.
All other types I have no issue with, and an nvidia riva tnt2 model 64, was the type I had as a teen, with an amd k6-2 at 450 mhz, this got me into that hardware, as the tnt2 video cards back around 2000, had really good color in unreal tournament 99, on windows 98.
the reason i made my previous comment was because you pretty much called me dumb after i said the guide didnt help me.
No I didn't call you dumb, as you were mocking my guide and provoking me.
And I took it as an insult.
You were mentioning things you felt weren't relevant, well maybe just to you, as you might not understand it as I have pointed out the reasons, but it can help others, and it has, and you should be careful with what you word next time, which draws others away from believing I can help them, which I would not have made the guide for if I didn't do alot of that myself or had the experience for more than 20 years, I didn't have to take the time out to make that guide.
The way you said what you did, and several times as well, made it out like my guide wouldn't help others, and other people do read this, and I had good reason to feel provoked.
Although I do feel bad that you just got the video card without knowing.
I myself got some ram that wasn't the most compatible but I'm happy with the 32 gigs dominator ram, only had 30 days to return it, if I had longer and knew better ram at 32 gigs for my system, then I would have got it as well.
I will always stay with an nvidia geforce video card though, and an amd processor, as mine is the vishera fx 8350 - 4.0 Ghz 8 Core Processor, that was $200 dollars, which is an extremely good price over intel's thousands of dollars cpu's.
this game is a fully console ported, therefore, it has a limited textures resolution (not display resolution). The only editable graphic settings are the only ones you see at ingame option, and the game is ported without the code to allow any external graphical injection/enchancement.
there are alot of games (console port too) that could benefit from forcing AA via CCC, such as Skyrim, BioSHock, etc.. but this game doesnt
the graphics going black is caused by conflicting command from the CCC,
also it doesnt have anything to do with whatever card or spec your PC has
what a load of wall of text lol
Considering there are other games that have been ported to the pc from console, that have worked with anti aliasing at 32x, just not noticable after 8x.
There is no straight answer in pc gaming when it comes to every pc being different.
As far as console ports... you will get only what you get, but that doesn't mean everyone's game is going to look the same with different video cards and performance, "depending on what level of performance your processor can handle" which is common sense.
One other thing to point out, why would you be forcing AA on this game anyways? That was your mistake, not mine.
That's like asking why the walking dead game won't work, and then unplugging the controller to find out it will startup without it plugged in, and expecting that to be in my guide, as there are many games that don't use a controller and pc's that don't come with one either for a good reason, and expecting controller info for every game is rediculous, no one would find that reasonable to read in a guide, as not every game is going to be used with one, and that would be a waste of time to read for many people that don't have a controller.
Plugging in a controller is your own doing, as an example of what you said about the AA, I hardly call that pc related as a common issue, and other issues that the guide fixes amongst drivers, but mocking the guide and putting it down was your way of calling me dumb.
Considering I never said that I tested AA on this game, as I have tested it on other ports. So your load of wall of text... is a load of BS, and one sided.
That doesn't mean my guide doesn't help with common issues, and that the radeon doesn't have many issues as black textures in many games that others have talked about in the past, as well as the sli issues with their video cards showing black textures or other issues, I would say that is pretty damn straight forward, and as I mentioned... I never said that I had tested AA yet on this game, as I have tested it on other ports.
Btw.. most issues even if you try anti aliasing, is a software issue and alot of times, updating the drivers with official drivers will usually fix most problems... "when that issue has been fixed in the latest drivers". Which usually is fixed by now, as video drivers weren't born yesterday. Even if new radeon video cards have horrible settings.
That doesn't mean many issues can't be fixed though for that video card, and many issues are still being notified and fixed. But that doesn't mean you stay with the same drivers or old drivers, and if you agree, then you are also agreeing with my guide, as well as knowing that I wasn't talking about forcing AA on at all... unless your video card works right for some games with AA, now was I? And I wasn't wrong about radeon video cards, specific types, that work with specific systems, as well as geforce video cards.. go try them and find out for yourself, as long as it is no less than a geforce 670 gtx to test, then come back with your load of so called straight forward answer after you test a number of video cards and hardware.
OP asked simple question
you havent answered his question with all that texts
just sayin lulz
