All this talk of SOTN inspired me to put in on my Shield. Works great with the psx emulator.
I remember the first time trying Dota 2, just to watch, I mentioned and complimented the graphics, I was like... wow this game's visuals are good.
And as soon as I did... got chewed out by many of the players that were insulting, as my brother said... that is why he uninstalled it, because there were too many kids on it.
Epsxe was updated last year to 1.9.0
I have the original game, but a backup just in case, and my backup iso, runs really well as I have had it for years with specific plugins and the best settings are amazing.
My backup version looks better than the ps version, not even pixelated or anything, and with extreme rendering features from the plugins, it looks really amazing, I recommend it, just be careful with what you set in the video plugin and know what you are doing.
I cannot give a link to the game sorry... but the emulators are free.
Although people... don't download games without supporting the company first...
If you like castlevania, support Konami so that they will make more!! =)
This means... buy a ps1 from an online auction, or a videogames plus.. used and new game store... or whatever that can play ps1 games, and buy castlevania symphony of the night, and other castlevania games from them.
Also try to get the sega saturn version.. after the ps1 version of castlevania symphony of the night, as the sega saturn version I heard wasn't too good, but it has 3 playable characters, compared to the one on the ps1, which does allow you to play as richter if you beat the game over what was it? I believe 180% or something close to that, with alucard first and then put in some code as a new game save at the start of the game.
Btw I am sure alot of castlevania sotn fans already know this but.. if you skip the first meeting with death in sotn, go save and get to alchemy lab's first room, then go back out and into death's area, there you will find gaibon and slogra, the 2 demons that support death, it's safe to attack them as they will fly to their proper boss room area.
Back in 2007, a sega saturn emulator was in the making, could play quite a few sega saturn games, but not that well, as it was really early in development and horrible with frame rates, it was unplayable, and a few years later, it could play games way better, although I haven't checked in years myself after that, I don't even remember the name of the emulator for the sega saturn.
Not from a used game store no that wouldn't support as the money doesn't go to them, but you might get it from them on their site, although if you ask them, they will tell you it is copyright not to have an original of the game, if you have a backup copy such as an iso download file that you can easily find online.. that is without it.
But why would you not do the right thing, and buy their games? If you are a castlevania fan..
And yes it did support them when those games came out, or from in stores when the games first came out as well.
Mine too is from 1997...
Just like the Megaman X creators did admit back a few years ago, that they would consider making a Megaman X 9, if they got enough of the funds from their customers, and enough money at that, just to provide them with the technology to make the game and to support their companies needs to feed families... and depends on the popularity of the other games they were creating and the MMX series as well as if the game was made, to keep it going, much like the same issue with the castlevania series, as far as reviving, but then castlevania has alwasy been going to me.
And people for many years have been ripping them off the day games came out, by downloading emulators and the games, since some people can't afford those games that are fans, it makes sense half and half, both ways, but to do the right thing, if you like the game after you play it, buy it...
Even some used games stores, allowed you to try before you buy.
From what I had heard a while ago, some companies are trying to get rid of those used game stores.
if Konami will ever consider to port an old Castlevania title on PC i wish and i think would be better to port DXC
which is incredibly small.
i guess should not be an issue to resize them to a proper resolution since the standalone game doesn't have this issue...but even then, i still prefer this package for 2 reasons: 1) we have 3 games to play 2)as everybody knows RoB and SotN are connected story wise...
also the XBLA version of SotN also have resized screen (don't know about the PSN version though), so your point it's all that valid given that IF Konami decide to port the game i guess thay will take the latest released version
Would be cool to get SotN on steam but its gotta be the definitive version. Some consider the psp version tops while others liked the extra content on the Saturn version. I believe the title deservers something altogether better than any version previously.
If you could play some of the areas before the story was created, just to play in the game, would you do so? Such as the sega saturn extra areas of SoTN.
And what if you could play it in full screen, even know it doesn't have the best rendering but looks ok, depending on the way it is made.
I'm just asking because I'm wondering what people's thoughts are, and if they would play it, if something could be made sort of like sotn on the pc.
Don't forget the old super nintendo version called Castlevania Dracula X aka Castlevania 5. =)
Which is Rondo of Blood, just a very basic form of it, and way less enhanced, and the pc version only came out in japan, but you can find it online, there are 3 versions of this game, the one on the snes known as Castlevania 5, Rondo of Blood, and The Dracula X Chronicles.
Not to be confused with Castlevania Chronicles which came out on the playstation 1.
Rondo of Blood on the pc, also had extra areas at the starting stage, 2 directions to 2 different bosses, as well as other stages had extra areas, and way more content.
It's still nice to own both versions though of Dracula X, the super nintendo version and the pc version.
