I can't start a new game. Deleting the save file doesn't work.
I want to start a new game. As I'm sure you're aware, there is no new game option in the game itself. I've seen previous posts about this, suggesting to delete the game's save file and profile from the desktop, then start a new game with Cloud sync disabled. This does not work.

I can delete Castlevania.cfg and Castlevania.profile just fine. This has no effect as long as remotecache.vdf exists, even with Cloud sync disabled. If I delete remotecache.vdf and try to start the game with Cloud sync disabled, the launch fails. It will not launch until sync is re-enabled, and as soon as I start it that way, it immediately grabs the old save files.

Is there any way to remove save files from the Cloud manually? Or any other way around this problem?

Are you disabling Cloud Sync via game properties, I mean specific for this game?
If so, try to disable it for all games.
Steam menu > Settings > Cloud... and uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud".

Instead of deleting only remotecache.vdf, delete the remote folder too.

Also go to Steam menu > Settings > Downloads... and clear download cache.

If that still doesn't work, enable Cloud Sync, launch the game, tab out and delete the save files. Now tab back in and exit the game normally.
See if it works.

You should try to cap the frames per second of the game on your graphic card drivers to 60 fps. That worked for me.

Also super late. My first build had a AMD card in it. This game had nothing but issues. I got a Nvidia back in 2022 and this game now runs flawlessly with 120fps.

I think It is not a graphic card issue, i got a 4070s and it was unplayable untill i caped the frames, it's more of how the game is made and the compatibility with newer video cards.I think It is not a graphic card issue.

Figured it out.

Disable cloud sync
delete the save file from steam user's game folder
delete the file "Castlevania.localcfg" from C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\MercurySteam\CastlevaniaLoS
Run the game
enable cloud sync after finishing 1st mission

However, the controller isn't working now
