I don't think so. I hope there isn't. It would be no fun. Imagine how boring it would be fighting enemies knowing you have infinite lives.
I think the game is perfect the way it is.
If the difficulty is too high, I recommend turning it down. Replay a few old areas to build your character to use more combos. Also, really important, learn to do synchronized block. This helps you build momentum or whatever the bar at the bottom is called, which makes combat generate many more magic orbs.
