Way too difficult for me

Hello,

I have a problem that I got too frustrated with the game and got stuck at level 2-4.
Yesterday I got to area with greater lycan and smaller monsters but it gets worse and worse. Today I did not manage to return there. It took me half an hour struggle just to beat the spider and I just could not get past the single greater lycan.
When I tried the demo, it was challenging but I finished it without endlessly repeating a same part. I did not think difficulty would be worse and worse. It sucks I ended practically at start of the game :(

It's easier and faster to kill the big lycans when you do a perfect blocking. Practice it! Don't give up!

Thank you for the tip. I have not learned this technique yet but I will try. I should probably also wait until I am fit and not play tired.

I loved Darksiders 1 and Bayonetta. I also finished DMC 4. But this game plays a bit differently. Any other general tip?

He is right about the perfect blocks/ counters. you need them with the wolves. same with the lycan boss. you MUST do counters

I see, regarding counters.
I dropped difficulty from warrior to squire and I completed the level relatively easily. So I was wrong about difficulty. Here is hope I will see the end at least on squire :-)
Later I tried to replay the level on warrior and finally succeeded.

This game is ridiculously hard, and it's not like you improve technique over time. You mostly unlock upgrades and powerful moves, it becomes customary to use the right technique/tool at the right time, especially while playing on Paladin difficulty. I tried playing without using tools or magic, full peasant mode and I have barely improved from when I first started playing.
