So when do I become a vampire?
I know nothing of Castlevania except that it's a vampire game and that's why I bought this game; to play a vampire. When I first started up I was a bit surprised because I was a paladin (or whatever he is), not a vampire. I just thought it was one of those games where you play as the enemy at the beginning of the game (like AC3) but no, I am now in the Lycan forest and still not a vampire. I look at the controls and I see shadow magic and I heard this other guy talking about harnessing the power to the Lords of Shadow so I must become a vampire at some point in the game. Without spoiling anything, when do I become a vampire?

In Lords of Shadow 2. No joke.
In fact, technically, you'll be able to play a complete vampire in the second opus.

The Ultimate Edition is basically the base game plus two dlc that take place after the original game. Guess where do you become a vampire (protip: it's not in the base game).

So yeah, you basically know the plot twist from the last cutscene of the game.

On Lords of Shadow 2 you play as a vampire since the beginning though.

I'm fairly sure you unlock it on chapter 2, level 4.
Light magic is kinda vampric in how it functions, ie draining enemies health to restore your own; Even if its not thematicaly.
