Ogre rendering engine / Kenshi Game Engine
Hello, if would be great if somebody can explain the difference between game engine and rendering engine? Does Kenshi uses OGRE for rendering only, but its created/based on its own "in-house" game engine?
Is it right to say that OGRE deals with low-level graphics API, shaders, textures - visuals rendering. While your Game engine is responsible for AI, animation, physics, sound and in general it is an ultimate game development tool like Creation Kit for Skyrim? Thanks!

Rendering engine - engine that is used to show 2D/3D objects on screen and manage them. In order to render them on modern systems you need to use low-level graphics API, shaders, textures, etc.
Game engine is collection of engines that includes scripting language, sound engine, rendering engine, physics engine and other things needed for game in one place where they can interact with each other.

Last time I checked, OGRE wasn't capable of anything but rendering. You still need sounds, dialogues, AI, physics for it to be a game, instead of a rendered scene, right?

P.S. Where do you think "Game engine" ends and "Game" starts?
