I tried to do that and validate the files, but it did not work.
Best recommendation is to scrap the mod if you're still having an issue with it and start a new mod. If you saved your game with that mod active, you may be forced to start that over aswell when dealing with character modifications.
Make sure you always start a new mod. Save a new mod, then load said mod with basegame data aswell, but you may already understand that.
I don't know about editing characters of a current savegame in the FCS. I know there's a way to do it but I do not know how. It might be simpler to start a new mod with a new start that has edited characters...
If you've simply edited a savegame and errored in doing so, that savegame is toast. Removing mods or revalidating files isn't going to fix it. It's savegame data. You'll need to start a new game.
I had absolutely no way to activate the mod cause whenever I tried to do so it just gave me a infinitely repeating error that I needed to use task manager just to make it stop.
Sounds like one of your files has been altered, and wont' be picked up by revalidating. You may just need to completely uninstall and reinstall Kenshi unless you can locate exactly what was changed and delete then revalidate.
Wipe the Data folder entirely and revalidate. (backup any mods you may have in there that you wish to keep)
I just did and I am going to see what happens now.
That be great, yeah.
2. Select Properties, this will give you a pop up window with tabs along the top
3. Select Local Files, and then choose "Browse local files"
4. You should now see the "forgotten construction set" icon...open it
5. This is where you will load your save game that you are trying to modify.
At the top of the screen you will see "global game settings" and "open any" ">*<"
Click "open any" and this will open a "Load Unique Data File" window with a path bar that shows something like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\data
If you click on Kenshi in the path bar you will get a new menu below showing the "Save" folder, select save
Now find your character's "name" folder and select it
Now select "platoon"
Scroll down and find "nameless_1.platoon" and select it. It should pop up in the Forgotten tool set now and you will see your character's name twice at the top of the list.
Ignore the first one, and select the second one. Those are your stats.
Have fun
The other slots are inventory items and weapons / armor slots. With a great deal of work I have learned how to turn rusty into the best edge weapons and prototype armor into best quality
that is much more work...
I can kiss you on the mouth right now. Is there a way to gold more Cats in addition to ebtter stats?
Gold can easily be edited via Cheat engine. Once you have a sword or weapon in inventory you can change stats on it by changing simple things.
Try looking through the long list of items in your character screen, where you can se ther names. There is a long list (depnding on how much stuff you have).
Find one that has some things like this in it:
base data sid 478-gamedata.base
charges 1
color sid 1266-gamedata.base
company si 1070-gamedata.base
in inventory True
inventory x 0
inventory y 0
item function 5
level 100
material sid 1069-gamedata.base
quality 100
section back
This is my character's primary weapon. Took some digging but I found the base numbers, color, manufacturer, and edge types. Then played with level and quality until I got what I wanted. Once I had a rusty sword, I equiped it on character in main slot, saved, opened in FCS and just changed appropriate numbers. Lot of trial, error, and yes even buggy games that had to be trashed and started over. So be warned, it is not easy.
Good Ringed Sabre:
Change these two and change level and quality to 100 as well
Base 903-gamedata.base
Color 1266-gamedata.base
Good luck
See I did that too, but no matter how many times I clcked it, the error would not go away. I eventually just close it with the Task Manager.
