"Buildings->Functionality->Armour Plate" in this case.
Weapons work fine without being added, because a weapon smith is capable of crafting any weapon. But armour is set up different, and required being manually added to the craftable list for that bench, which is done through the functionality.
Backpacks would also require being added to a functionality. Except that they have no bench in the game by default, so you possibly have to make an entirely new functionality and add it to a new bench that you created yourself. Not sure if it would work if it was simply tacked on to an existing functionality. Though it might, never tried it.
Oh my god, thanks very much, my friend. I was pulling my hair out over this. It works for armor and backpack once I added the custom items I made to the Armour plate functionality, despite the fact that the weirdness of having a backpack and vest being crafted from armour plates, but i do not mind since it's already working, thanks to you.
