Robot Crafting
I have started looking at a next level of crafting....Model 30s and Security Spiders which will patrol your base.

The crafting process is in place but the tricky part is going to be spawning in one of these robots from the crafted item.
I think making it a consumable item which then triggers the robot to spawn in your base and act as a permanent mercenary guard....making use of the mercenary guard your outpost function already in game
Is this even possible?

AFAIK given the engine, spawn points have to be map orientated. Its not impossible to assosite a npc spawn from a building but its again limited to devs coding style of spawning at set times with a % of type of spawns.

I dont think it would be spawnable in the sense you need it to be.

Ive tinkered with the con kit many tmes over the years, not noticed a way to do as you intend. Maybe some out of the box stuff might work, but you might need to have a chat with kenshis dev to know if its possible.

Better chance would be adding a tool for skeletons to hack fallen robots to become pets. I was planning on something like that myself when i ahve time to mod again.

I had a look at the construction kit, not 100% sure if this is helpful but for nest eggs, for the tool tip it says "animal that comes out of the egg (if it's an egg)". Is it safe to assume that means a mob can spawn from it, if you were to change it to a skeleton spider?

Doesn't actually work yet though. If they ever actually add that, then yes it would be a good way to go about doing it. At least for robot animals.

Ah damn it's so misleading, oh well. We can only hope it's soon.

Actually you could make the item you place in the world like the sleeping bag, and if the building spawning option works that could work. Then all you have to do is make the object take damage and get destroyed when the spawned spider is in the world somehow.

They somehow manage to spawn in Seto for the Shek...was hoping to use a similar method. So perhaps a different angle is to use the Skeleton city in the Deadlands as the only place that they can be created. You deliver the parts to them for construction and then when it spawns with the AI rule to guard your outpost - AI package: contract Mercenary outpost guard sends it over to guard for you. Have to workaround the time limit thing also..
