Note, not all turrets are well suited to high placement, even if they technically get bonuses for it. For instance, multi-barrels are really short range and somewhat inaccurate, so they'd perform terribly on a tower. But a MKII harpoon turret is very accurate with a high range, and is an excellent tower turret.
That is to say: for a regular harpoon turret to hit a target 120m away (stated max range) on the horizontal plane, it needs to be placed at the exact same height elevation. No more, no less.
And if you were to manage to get it 130m above ground, it wouldn't be able to hit anything at all...!
