Invisible roads?
Ok, so I've been reading about pathing because of some base trouble. What is an invisible road? Is it a just a road you can't see, or a road that doesn't even show up when you debug? I've got dudes hugging the corners of houses trying to get to the front door where there is no "road" in the debug screen. There are just so many pathing fails in this game. I hope this will be a thing of the past in K2.

But anyone in the future reading this from a search on roads and pathing, use shift+F12, go to the navmesh and click roads, and see if there is a grey line running through where you're having a pathing problem. Making sure I am not building on a road solves 90%+ of my problems.

When people say "invisible" road they mean ones that don't physically show up in the world on the ground textures. Or that's what I'd assume, I'm not sure I've actually heard anyone refer to an "invisible" road.

But all roads as far as pathing goes are visible with the editor. There are none that are also hidden from it, that would serve no purpose.

And I also echo the sentiment that hopefully we'll be done with this with K2. They are using a 3rd-party engine this time around, rather than trying to build their own. So much of the engine caused problems should be a thing of the past (to be replaced by newer and different problems caused by the new engine of course).

Here's where i heard invisible road. so i guess it's talking, as you say, about what shows up in the editor, but not on the physical ground like a pathway.

though it doesn't explain why my peeps are hugging buildings like they are trying to walk through it to get to the door.
