Stealing armor and weapons from alert people on guard duty like in skyrim is ridiculous.
It takes true dedication to your job to ignore the fact that your dangly bits are now directly exposed to sub freezing wind.
And a fascinating sense of urgency to then warn you not to steal anything, sneak thief.
I think it's fine as it is. Even though sleeping in armor, and have somone steal it is ridiculous if you ask me.
would have to agree on that one.
Yeah people seem to forget that Armor weight can vary but it is always very tight fitting.
Run my naked victims! Run!
Stealing someone money with a skill check would be realistic and fine. Stealing the armour and weapon he is wearing is ridiculous. On top of that it would lead to multiple exploit and situation even more ridiculous, like that video of Skyrim where the player removed all the armour and weapons of the entire guard watch of Whiterun (except of the helmet and boots, don't ask me why), and started a fight. And everyone was fighting with fists, while being naked.
While it's funny and I had a good laugh, it's hardly realistic.
Then you have the whole balance to consider. And the use for it. And in both case, I see more issues than solutions.
As it is, stealing gear is possible on a sleeping character. It's rather ridiculous but I'm fine with it because it's probably complicated to have a mechanic where people remove their armour when they go to sleep and put it back when they wake up.
Doing the same on a very awake person would be dumb.
Probably an added show off factor. "i took of their shirt and pants without couching their hat and shoes.
It is a very silly concept of fantasy
if some slept on their stomachs i could see it being possible, same goes for their backpacks i suppose
