The Dread Pirate Bugmaster
I just had a thought regarding the peculiar longevity of everyone's favorite lord of Arach. Is it at all possible that the Bugmaster is actually not one human that's lived WAY longer than any one human could possible live but in fact multiple people who've inherited the title of the Bugmaster? We see evidence of cages inside the Bugmaster's lair, so he does take prisoners. Is it possible that in order to see his mission done (we know the Bugmaster was planning to take on Cat-Lon given what we find in his chest) he brainwashes/indoctrinates one of his prisoners to ultimately succeed him?

Maybe all those teeth in the chest are mementos of Bugmasters past?

It's not impossible at all. But there is nothing to go on at all. All we know is that there has been a Bugmaster for centuries. And that he knows of Cat-Lon, which could be explained by either scenario. Either he knows of him because he was around all that time ago, or he knows him because it has been passed down for generations of Bugmasters.

The only problem I have with concept of the inherited position, is that if it was inherited I feel like the devs would have put some kind of clue towards it. They had plenty of chances to do so. For example, the next generation of Bugmaster being in the cage already. Which could be rescued, and perhaps even made a unique recruit.

The fact that they didn't makes me believe the "immortal" Bugmaster theory more. Especially because there was going to be another "immortal" character in the game, before he was cut and replaced by none other than Cat-Lon. This makes me wonder if the plan was always to have the Bugmaster be his rival, two immortals training and fighting over the course of centuries.

Seems likely I mean if we're open minded to any clues for beginning and ending his Foreign Sabre which was popularly used in the Black Deserts as its description states(Though anyone can have any weapon for any reason out side local preference) then the Black Desert City which is neighbors from the Dead lands was established after the fall of the second empire. May suggest an Origin prior to the Throne in Arach

Genetic engineering is a thing in Kenshi, so massively extended lifespans don't seem all that out of the ordinary. Also... the orbit of a moon means fewer days and potentially a shorter year (depending where the host planet sits in its own system), so hundreds of years might only be decades in Earth terms anyway.

100 days equal a year in Kenshi so yea 3.65 times shorter than Earth. I can say its safe to say He stands as a demi-god, and clearly has a method to controlling the Spiders probably akin to how The Hiver Queen's Pheromones work

Hehe, late to the conversation but I get what you did in the title there. What would Roberts think.
