[0.96.17] Memory leak..?
I have a base in the Sten desert(thats where the Shek are right?) and on my way to last stand I apparently discovered a village that was never there before.

But as soon as I get the pop-up that I deiscovered it, the game starts freezing up for about 5 seconds with a 1-2 second gap where it runs and then freezes again.

Nothing seems to fix this, alt tabbing, switching to characters on the other side of the map, rebuilding nav and biomes, nothing. Game just keeps locking up for 5+ seconds with a seconds play before locking up again.

Ok so nvm, seems it just happens over time(but going to the new village seems to trigger it immediately) as well after testing it a couple more times. Now I'm suspecting a memory leak. With task manager open I saw it going all the way up to 3200mb.

3.2 gb isn't much. but that depends on amount of ram you have
a memory leak is something where the amount of ram used keeps growing until it tops off at the amount of ram you have. if its holding at 3.2gb for long periods then tis not a memory leak

but the town could in fact be triggering something else. resulting in a spike of ram usage to load it. but after wards that usage should go back down to whatever normal levels are for your computer with amount of ram you have.

now if your ram usage keep growing non stop then yes that's a memory leak.

Started a new game without mods(holy mother of frame rates!) ran my guy all the way from the hub to the new village without a problem, but shortly after getting the notification the game locks up a couple of times and crashes.

It doesn't, it reaches 3.2 then starts to lock up and eventually crash.
make sure and upload your crashdumps. the issue could be with the town itself

Game hasn't been generating crash dumps since like .95 for me. and packing up the whole thing is such a pain. Might do it tomorrow.
then zip up your kenshi.log after the crash and upload that in its place.

in addition to what's going on above, using a plastic surgeon also locks up my game.

I also had one crash *virtual function error* while testing a mod free save file.

To be clear, the game is locking up and becoming unresponsive and must be closed via task manager. No logs or dumps are being generated,or at least none I can find after scouring Kenshi folders.

The active mod list

I'm using a Alienware laptop
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.6GHz 2.6GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.89 usable)
Samsung SSD PM851 M.2 2280 128GB
System type: 64-bit operating system (windows 10),x64 based processor
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M

How to replicate: Simply start save game.At location Stack you can either use space to pause (which will lock the game in a matter of seconds) or talk to the Plastic Surgeon (which will also lock the game in a matter of seconds)

Edit: Opening and using the build menu also appears to lock the game after some time.

Specs: amd fx8370 4.2gz
16G ram
gtx 1060 6g version

I have been getting something similar to this, after a bit my game freezes for few seconds then resumes and it keeps happening, if i import it fixes it for a short time then happens again no matter where I go.

I dont have a crash log as it never crashes it would just keep freezing and unfreezing.
My memory use as far as task manager says doesn't top off nor does the video card ( msi fterburner).

Checking file integrity (4 files) and then importing (again) seemed to fix it for a short while. But the whole audio choppiness/distortion set in after around 10 minutes and eventually the program was not responding.

I had one pure virtual function error crash on approach to Stack. On sebsequent loads pressing space bar (pause) or entering options menu would also lock the game with eventual *not responding* and needed to close the program through Task Manager.

I couldn't keep the program alive long enough to check if Plastic Surgeons still crash my game.

please make sure and upload your crashdump or kenshi.log if the game didn't create one.

All the crashes seem to be coming from
Plugin_ParticleUniverse_x64.dll According to event viewer.
