Dogs can't go indoors?
Been having trouble lately getting my dogs to follow me into bars, did the devs do this or is it a bug?

Once they get to a certain size they are no longer allowed inside. Helps prevent them from getting stuck in doorways and on furniture.

just went into the watch tower at The Hub and only 2 of my dogs followed me in, the rest refuse to go inside :(

thats stupid imo, just allow us to pick them up if theyre still concious and problem solved. I never had them get stuck enough that bumping into them a couple times didnt solve

this REALLY kills my whole 1 man 9 dog squad

edit: I NEED A MOD!!!

i tried an import and rebuilding the navmesh but it didnt help

So I've been running some tests with them. It seems that they lose the ability to enter at exactly 0.46 scale, while a 0.45 dog can enter just fine. Though both dogs are visibly perfectly capable of entering, and have no issues getting around inside and pathing past objects if you glitch them in.

I've also found that you can glitch them in by telling them to move to a spot that has a piece of furniture on it. If you move them anywhere besides another spot that has furniture, they decide to run out of the building (what you experienced). But you can click on any shelf, counter, table, etc. and they'll run up to it with no issues. Even works with animals specifically tagged to not be allowed in buildings.

Hopefully this information will help the devs look into it. And maybe let you bypass it with the little glitch mentioned. :)

thanks shidan, i wonder at what point they will stop growing O.o Ive had them quite awhile and they are rather skilled (melee and defence attack a lil over 50 each and over 55 toughess, attack 40 +-1, not sure about the rest as they are all a bit injured from fighting several large packs of beak things in succession)

edit:athletics over 90, swimming over 80, stealth over 40, martial arts about 50, attack over 40
edit: I brought them with me exploring the world before the southern chunk opened
edit: their strength and dex are down from injuries

They should start at 0.35 scale when a pup, and end at 0.80 when an adult. Unless one is the mountain dog from the guy with dog start, that one can grow up to 1.1 scale.

I dont think i started this character that way, pretty sure he was rock bottom, yipes i dont know how big they are now, how would i check that? Im thinking t hey must be pretty close to full size although my issue with bringing them indoors hasnt been one for very many days in game i think

Not sure you can. I tested by setting their maximum scales, and then spawning with them at maximum age.

But it should be based on age. Once a normal bonedog reaches 20 days of gameplay, it should be fully grown.

i think this guy was height 100

edit: well they are looong looong LOOOOONG past that for sure, so im not sure why it wasnt an issue a long time ago

edit: they did most of their work back before i could even carry them ><, sometime after the northern map chunk opened up im pretty sure i hadnt started this character before that, if so it was soon before

ps: thanks again shidan!

This is the in game model size of a fully grown Mountain Dog.

They're able to freely traverse big doors like police station doors, but aren't capable of fitting their delightfull frame through those pesky little openings on small domaciles.I have personally had troubles with him getting stuck in and around buildings after warping inside or onto a roof.

To fix without deleting buildings and stuff you can load a save checking change squad positions.Make sure you have the character you want everyone else to teleport to highlited in the save,as ALL Faction members (including animals) will teleport to his position.

Edit: Oh here's Puppys stats =)

i guess they swell with strength like humanoids do? I never upped theirs using a backpack

edit: whoops forgot shidans post about the og pet dog start getting way larger

Here's a mod to limit dog sizes if you're interested. Caps them at 0.45 scale, so they should still be able to enter buildings. Not sure whether it will affect existing dogs or not, but it shouldn't hurt anything. Though it doesn't hurt to keep a backup save of course. ;)
