Hauling materials around my base... (0.71.3)
Has anyone gotten automatic hauling to work when base building in 0.7x?

I've got stone mines with full outputs but the miners won't move anything to storage or the processor, the processor has an empty input but the workers won't grab from the mines or storage box, and haulers assigned to the storage boxes won't do anything. Base builders also won't grab building materials on their own.

I've gotten tired of micromanaging all the inventories, any tips? I've tried rebuilding navmesh, save/loading, and exiting and restarting game.

I have every one assigned to their jobs permenatly (Shift+right click).

I found that my mines would max out to 20, then the workers would transfer some of the stone to the processor. But the processor operator would only collect one stone at a time which would disappear from the image immediently as it is being used to process.

A trick i found is you can open up the inventory of Any memeber never the mine and processor, then you can right click the stone into their inventory, then select the processor again(might havd to click and then unclick then reclick, seems to be a glitch) than you can move the stone into the processors inventory without anyone stopping work, but thats only if you want to see materials in their slots.

Hope this helps.

Another thing to mention is that Auto hauling gives preference to the nearest building that accepts wahts being hauled. So if you have a raw stone storage chest between the mine and the processor, the processor will never get any stone.

The system is a bit buggy and wonky at times but I can confirm that it does work.

most hualing issues revolve around auto processers. the hauling issue is that it will pickup material from the mine then drop it into a storage chest but not the accual machine that needs it. requiring you to micromanage its production.
i solved this by not using the last upgraded processor ( automation ) and having a worker accualy on the machine. this is only a temp fix untill auto hauling is fixed.

I've noticed the AI randomly stops moving stuff in the current build. If your having trouble with the Automatic Processors Hold Shift Then Hold Right Click on the Processor and select "loot" instead of "autohaul" and this should fix the problem. If they randomly stop you just need to move them to get them going again.

The problem is with some of the basic low level mines and processors, the kind that take most of a squad to operate. I'm not sure why all of my squad has suddenly refused to carry things, but it seems to not be limited to building material production.

Stupid thought that may or may not be related:

I have a bed in one of my shacks that disappeared for one reason or another. Can't see it, interact with it, or dismantle it (or the shack), but it does still block pathfinding. Could that be part of the issue? Know a good way to make it go away?

Do you have the right floor selected?

If its not that, try building another object. While I was building my walls I had to re build a segment and dismantling a piece cause all of my buildings to become invisible untill I built something.

Nice one, I got rid of the bed built on the second floor of my one story shack. Now to see if that helps fix pathing issues.

HOORAY! I got them to do their hauling. All I had to do was shoot the Sand Ninja hiding (spawned there) on the cliffside with a mounted crossbow, and now there's no combat going on.

Did I mention I hate how NPC's can spawn/find their way halfway up a cliff and get stuck?

Funny I felt like mentioning that nearby hostiles can really mess with hauling labors. Never got around to it though. Also thats reasons number 1 - Z why i have my base where it is now, no Impassable terrain.

Yeah i built my first few things on a hill east of clownready (Who btw keep losing all of their merceneries/guards to wild dog packs who are awarming the city every day, i think there two left after 6 day play after importing., then build a Large house, not willing to relocate just yet, theres a heap of flat area outside my wall but i need the building materials which i cant make because im attacked constantly by npcs who open my gate!!

Its a Very vicious cycle lol

Oh and Vicrry,

Keep your eye out for them getting inside your buildings, that stops your hauling as well, ive had to demolish half my buildings and rebuild due to that particular glitch.
