Workers stop working
First off to the devoplers of Kenshi you guys have done a great job on the game thus far. However I'm having an issue when I assign people to work example mine they won't do it unless they are right beside it and every so often they just stop and stand there. Theres plenty of storage space and I'm sure theres plently of resources in the ground. Any tips?

noticed there were 2 little updates over the past day or so. think it may have messed up pathing a little bit, i am having the same issue. workers wont travel more than a few feet to try and achiev a goal once they move away from their current objective. and to get them to do anything you have to move them right next to whatever you want them to use. i think we'll just have to wait for now, they'll have it fixed pretty quick i would say.

Make sure that the inputs on buildings that accepts their buildings outputs arnt full. They they arnt, you can try dismantling and rebuilding both buildings but this is a known bug at this time, devs are working on it.

It is certainly an issue i have as well. I just move the char somewhere random, and they get right back to working.

a sort of fix for now .

i only have problems with the mines and processer plants , orders for craftinhg work stations and transport are working ok as long as they are not to close to each other , blocks the pathfinder i think .

to get automated system working in my stone and iron i have a team of 4 men , 1 didicated miner , 2 plant workers and one for transport , if u give the 2 plant workers auto orders for the plant and mines , once they run out of ore and stop working the plant they will auto start the second order , work the mine , once they have ore in the inventry they will automatically switch back to there first job on the plant taking watever ore the didicated miner has produced with them and there freshly mined or , thus giving me automation at a reduced capacity .

One point on the iron mine . whenever i gave some one the auto mine order they would run of :) so i let them to se what they would do , they would run down to the main gate and open it then start there work on the mine :)) if i shut the gate they would stop , run back down and open it again :))))) i found this very amusing .

But this did add a bit of "personality " to the charc i thougth . So could we have charc with traits , for example , a medic who refuses to work on any farm , a soldier who will occasionly pinch a bottle of rum ...... limited only by our amigination and homour :))))
not sure how hard this would be for the devs to do ?

I like the idea of personality traits for characters to give them individuality. I feel like i filled up my squad so fast that i had 7 characters and 13 random guys with hokey call signs that could later become anyone the plastic surgeon dreamed up. Everyone is pretty much the same and has about the same stats. It would be nice if they had some kinda inbuilt personality that made them different and had a minor gameplay effect.

Its the AI pathing, they cannot find their way to a stone mine right next to them. Its really bad. Pathfinding is broken atm when it concerns base building. I can't sit there and manually move all my workers.

What worked for me was locating a character who was bugged. Deleting their work order, saving and quitting, then dumping their inventory and it pick back up, then assign new work order. Seems to be a fix for just general worker buginess (iow fixes other bugged workers). For characters who wont move pick them up and drop for a temp work around. Hope this helps and happy tech hunting!

Wish we had access to the Nev Mesh tool and Lua
