I love it when people try new things in kenshi. Always end up learning the hard way.
So! Welcome to the Burning Forest. You may have heard that it rains acid here.
The Burning Forest has two seasons, a rainy one and a dry one. The dry one is an even mix of clear sunny days and brutal sandblasting dust storms rolling in from the nearby deserts.
During rain season it rains all the time, sometimes regular rain sometimes acid rain.
The seasons rotate, I don't remember how long. Weeks, if such a term applies to kenshi.
Anyway, since it's only raining 50% of the time and there's no guarantee that rain will be acid, you cannot actually rely on the rain to protect your base.
Depends on the location. Here in the Burning Forest the seasons are 50 about days long. Then as you mentioned, during the wet season it's only sometimes acid, about 50% of the time. So on average only 25 days out of 100 will be acid rain.
