Kenshi
I need a mod that just stops River Raptors from spawning to eat Crops
I'm just tired and annoyed of this rather immersion breaking mechanic. I set up a base in a neat little spot in the Hidden Forest, on my quest to have a run based in a different biome each time. I am on the edge of the Cannibal Plains, but it still counts as the Hidden Forest. I got my level four walls up, had my squad of twelve near-super soldiers eviscerate the cannibal raids during setup, bam, done, easy.

I set up one wheat crop to start. And they start coming. One squad of five roams towards the gates. Blam, dead. Then another. And another. Whenever even one crop is ready to harvest, they come, and when I have a city of 60 people, I almost constantly have a crop ready. Every time one squad is killed, another squad IMMEDIATELY spawns to replace it and starts pathing to the nearest crop. I can handle them, that's not the point. The point is that I don't WANT to handle them. I don't want to have to sit in my base listening to their constant screaming every 5 seconds whilst I listen to my harpoons skewer them. I also am starting to have some serious frame rate issues with the amount of corpses that are there. I just need it to stop. It's not a challenging game mechanic in the slightest, it's just an annoying mess that is starting to cause my PC to chug and if I don't find a way to stop these little bastards then I'm pretty well done. I don't want to move my base after putting several hours of work into this very nice location I found. Sorry, not happening, so don't try to make that suggestion. I want to stay in this spot, and I want to completely stop any and all spawn mechanics that force River Raptors to pop up constantly.

did you try killing the nests?
that would greatly reduce them.

only other way to stop them is to mod them out of the area.
Narko's hairy arse!

Yeah though I know your pain, I recently tried a Holy Nation playthrough and set up a small temporary outpost in Okran's Pride to get a stash of food going early on, with a few farmers while I was out exploring, but they kept getting wrecked by swathes of River Raptors lol. Almost non-stop, but my world settings had squads and nests at size 2, which probably had something to do with it.

And they eat crops so fast! Like holy hell, just popping those little plants like skittles, one single River Raptor can annihilate an entire XL farm in about fifteen seconds if nobody attacks them, lol. They'd also rip my poor low level farmers to shreds in short order too.

You could try reducing squad sizes and nest multipliers in the world, that makes the game boring but it would probably lead to River Raptors arriving in groups of like 3-5 instead of 10+ or something. I don't know if you can specifically stop them existing, I don't know how in-depth the modding capability is for adjusting them or something.

Perhaps Hydroponics can help? Maybe they won't try breaking in to buildings to gobble up your crops, and only path to crop farms out in the world? Hydroponics are locked deeply behind high tech levels and rare resources, but I suppose you could try using the in-game editor to spawn one and check if that works, at least?

Failing that, don't forget to set up a corpse incinerator and set someone with the job of disposing the corpses to help with your framerate, for one thing. You could also look into hiring some mercenaries or just making some guard tier squad members with Polearms or something, using the Guardposts mod to protect your base...might cut down on the constant sound of harpoons being fired, lol.
Sometimes you will kill their nest just by killing them in your base, keep killing them and they will stop coming. When you don't go for adventure and just staying in your base, reduce both View Range and npc view range to lower than 2000 to help with overall performance of pc.

Yes indeed! Kral also has tits according to angry Shek guards, but it was never specified how many, so it's possible that he's sporting 3 or more! :woman_glitch:

As with all things Kenshi related, let your imagination be your guide.
