Later. They will start hyping the game about 2 years before it gets released. Basing on the current open position of a community representative on the Lof-Fi website, it might be getting to that 2 year mark soon. But this is just my guess.

During Take-Two Interactive's May 2024 earnings call, the parent company of Rockstar Games, it was confirmed that GTA 6 is scheduled for release in fall 2025.

so you are correct, K2 isn't due for years after.

all that's been teased is that the game is being worked on. and that was more or less a goof back when they put up to vote to update the first game and work on the second, or just work on the second. not much else has been shown as to not build hype.

I read online that Kenshi 2 is skipping EA.
When was the game announced that work had started?
I would add several years to that date

it is skipping EA, we will get access when it reaches feature complete and then will open for beta access to get the bugs in the game worked out by us players. estimated time for full release after that is like 6 months.

but we still have an unknown amount of years to wait.

you underestimate game fans, you can show them a picture of literally anything made for a sequel to a game they love and they'll hype themselves up so much they think it is the magnum opus of the devs and complain when its not what they expected, its the fanbases fault though.
