Group Formation
I'm trying to build a ranged team, but I have to micromanage them all just to do an "line formation".
Didn't find a mod or anything related here, but it would be great to have others formations right after selecting a group and right click moving. Right now they just group togheter randomly.

Military formation and standard doesn't work for this purpouse.
I would sugest some more formations where you can select who goes where, like, the giant full armor Shek first in column formation, or everybody ranged lined up side by side.

I wouldn't mind the addition of some better tactical options, ala the "skirmish" feature from the Total War series. However, Ranged + Athletics is already the tool of choice for mass slaughter, and a group of several 50+ archers is nigh unstoppable.

Maybe a new skill ("Tactics" or "Discipline") could be used to determine a character's ability to remain in formation, so not every sad sod with a junkbow can effectively join a Wall of Death.

That's all something to think about for Kenshi 2, probably.

I usually group up rangers with same running speed instead of using following a character with formation. I noticed it best to command the group to sneak then attack targets while sneaking, less friendly fire, even they're pack together.

I looked in the editor and didn't see a section to edit formations. What you can do is have the squad in caravan formation with the Shek first in line. The range characters could also be placed in their own squad in caravan formation. In caravan formation they all line up. So when it's time to fight you can have the range squad move horizontally to the enemy to they line up properly.

I have had good effect with using the Caravan option. The has the crossbows travel in a line, when we encounter a hostile I order the leader to "move perpendicular to the hostile" which means they stop in a passable firing line. Perhaps this will help somewhat with your micro.
