Security Spider question
So, I'm starting to explore the entire map, got myself a nice team at home leveling up, went to obedience with my main guy, saw a badass "Security Spider" and thought I'd make a good training dummy for my guys since skeletons/mechanical things can be repaired "instantly" for 100% of cutting damage, which is great if you plan on leveling dexterity.

So I got home and discovered you can't put it in a cage (dunno why I thought I could anyway) but I noticed I could place it on a bedroll and it will stay there without attacking, the thing is, I fear it will disappear when I load up a save or something, so.. has anyone build a working arena to pit your newbies against these things that doesn't require much maintenance? Will it attack walls or gates if I wall it inside?

I'm not sure if there are iron/security spiders that would stay in sleeping bag or bed like most wild animals. Some that do not stay in sleeping bag or bed are great white gorrillo, king black gorrillo, some grievewraiths, one of 3 megacrabs and one of 3 king raptors. Have to fight them to recapture. So it's possible some iron/security spiders will stay in sleeping bag or bed until you pick them up, some might not if not all of them. You could put wild animals or machines in a building to lock them up if they won't stay in sleeping bag or bed. Don't build any storage containers in this building so your characters don't need to access for food or to ditch resources.

there is always the possibility they will disappear, NPCS have limited shelf life and will eventually despawn.

Thanks, didn't know that, I can always go fetch some more anyway, bounty characters don't share this shelf life do they? Also, what would happen If I "delivered" a bounty NPC, will it just disappear or stay in that prison for life?

Maybe im wrong, but bounties seems to stay on prison for life if they don't starve to death.. i never see them despawn unless i import my game or they stay there a LOT. (im talking about bandit king, vatlena, Phoenix etc not random guys)
the dead do, they will eventually disappear due to being dead.
so you have a limited time to hand them in. but usually enough time to do so.
bounties you are carrying that are alive should stay spawned, though there might be a risk if you load a save with one you are carrying as it could disappear.
