Can't fight enemy in bed

I've been trying to create a training dummy out of Cat-Lon. I cut off one of his legs and gave him the best armor I have, but when I put him in the skeleton bed I can't attack him. He has the red marker of an enemy, but when I right-click on him, he just sits there doing nothing with the "attacking enemies" status.

move your character super close to the bed, maybe move them around a bit from different angles

Try this, pick him up from the bed, and then drop him down on the floor, and then pick him up again, and drop him in the bed.

It's weird. Everytime I do he just backs up to create some distance and stares at catlon with his weapon in hand in a idle stance.

Tried this. Also waiting for him to wake up in cage and pick up and put him in.

Far as I'm aware, the attacking in a bed thing only works for animals. I don't think it works on humanoids.

i think you can do it with humanoids if you bust a limb off and use them in a skeleton repair bed, i think i did it with a shek that had all limbs busted off in a peeler but i could be misremembering

They'll stay in bed with 1 missing leg. That's how I have cat-lon set up right now. Seen videos of people beating on npcs in bed but i've never been able to do it.

I was able to get it to work when I did it in Burn's tower rather than at a town so that may be a factor

Took Catlon minus his right leg to grey desert tower that you can buy and tried to attack him and it wouldn't even give me the option, so I took him to Burn's Tower in the Floodlands and it worked just fine. I think you have to be out of a settlement for it to work. Good luck.
