Kenshi

Last community update was in 2021
Any idea why they stopped posting these? It was nice to see the progress of the game and I think it would've be beneficial to get community feedback as development continues to avoid any potential missteps, to know what resonates well with those who will be playing the game, and just to stay connected with the community in general.

What do you mean? Because the last community post was three weeks ago.

Because posting regular blogs with content gives the impression that the game is closer than it is, and overhypes an audience which leads to disappointed fans. The devs announced the game way too early, and have realized since that the frequency of Kenshi 2 information was unsustainable.

Updates will resume when they closer to release. Until then we just have to be patient.

Here is the last post made a by a dev on this topic, if you or anyone else is interested in reading.

Honestly though, we're in a really good position and the game is looking great. We're just not really ready to show it yet.

I don't answer every time someone asks "Kenshi 2 when?" etc. as that would be a (very dull) full time job, but here I am lol.

For those thinking it's taking a long time - bear in mind that:

People found out about Kenshi 2 EXACTLY when it started development due to the aforementioned vote. That's not normally the way things happen. Sequels are often in the works waaaaaaay before people realise they are, so it's quite likely that the perception this is taking longer than *most* games take is amplified by this.

'member how long K1 took? I will eat my boots if we ever delay so much that we end up taking that long.

We're not relying on trying to build hype by constantly writing dev blogs like indies working on their first title have to do.

We moved engine, that takes some time.

We are aware of Kenshi 1's flaws (just remembered which post this actually is that I'm commenting on haha). Believe it or not, we play and like the game. And we're working very, very hard to make sure there aren't those same bugs in the second game wherever we can - we have a dedicated QA guy that's been working for us for a while now (not something the first title had). But this will take time. Kenshi 1 is a *complex* game, and Kenshi 2 is even more so. So do bear with us. The longer the wait, the more polished it will be.

Kenshi is kind of all about the audience not knowing stuff...

Personally opinion: If they actually doing something, anything at all, then they will have something to show for it, and people will be happy because we are easily content. The fact that I am not seeing anything for such a long time, I will translate it personally to "no one is doing anything about the game at all". Not that anyone asked.
