Make idle people sit or sleep to reduce food use?
Is there a way to make it so squad members that are idle AND have full health will lie or sit down, so they're not using as much food?

I figured out that if a person has "jobs" enabled, but is idle, and has less than full health, they will automatically go sleep.

But then they will wake up after healing, and stand there idle. I want to make them sit or sleep to save on food

Should be an option for it in the AI control panel, one of the tabs along the top if you open the map.

build furniture like chairs or benches for them to sit on and they'll do it while idle

Sitting down works more often than sleeping, for unknown reasons.

In Kenshi sleeping is just for healing. They will not sleep if in full health. That is why.

Funny enough, after posting this question, I am now having more difficulty getting people to sleep even when they require healing. It seems to be a bit random/unreliable, or I am missing a piece of the puzzle

Sometimes people standing around idle with injuries, tried with jobs turned on and off, they just wont go to sleep sometimes unless i manually tell them to

And I do have that AI option enabled that Shiden mentioned

One tip I can share. You can add sitting to the jobs list. Just keep it as the last job. I use this to make them sit close to their work stations.

I build very small outposts and only do this for my dedicated workers. I don't know how well this works with large towns and lots of pawns.
