building's can be randomly placed inside a city, including what's for sale. so there really is no known for sure building's to buy that i know of.

There has always been several Longhouses to buy in Squin in all my games. Try that Shek town.

The following video is only relevant in that it shows a longhouse in Squin I have purchased.

So, the shops and businesses in each town are apparently SUPPOSED to be randomized each playthrough, along with a host of other stuff (recruits in bars, location of metal nodes, artifact items in shops, loot in ruins). This is SUPPOSED to be controlled by a random seed generated at the beginning of each new game. But it is broken, so it does not randomize any of these things, so you will always find the same shops every time and the recruits Molly and Logan in the Hub, etc. This only changes if you have a mod that does it, like Shidan's Recruit Randomizer. I don't know of any that change the shops specifically, but there may be some.

If you don't have any mods altering shop placement, there are several larger buildings that can be reliably bought: Mongrel, Black Scratch, and Clownsteady all have a Y-house, Clownsteady and a couple Waystations have a Watchtower, World's End has an L-house, Mud Town has a Swamp Dome, Heft has a huge number including an Outpost s-IV. Probably others I am forgetting.

The shop placement and town terrain cannot be randomized because things will get stuck in the wrong elevation and angle. Every town and building was placed and then somehow refined the placement manually by devs, they at least went through some basic pathfinding testing, but sometimes a building still glitched such as the y house in Black Scratch which no ctrl+shift+f11 can fix. Best thing to do with those is to use the editor and maybe re-elevate them or something.

Stoat in the Great Desert has a lot of large buildings for sale, including step houses and long houses. If you're going to base yourself in a Untitied Cities town install the mod that disables nobles from randomly attacking you and thereby forcing you out of your in-town base.

The interior isn't too random, it has a priority list and within it, its rnd what gets picked.
As example if you have 3 priority 3 layouts, but only 1 matching house, it will pick one.
Idk on what basis the seed gets made.

But i guess what hatsune wanted to say is that you can edit in whatever house you want to any town, save it in a mod and then make it possible to buy.

I'm a fan of setting up in the (rather expensive) Outpost IV in Catan, and I use a stormhouse or two for any overflow buildings.

It has a general shop to buy raw resources from, and I can do weapon/armor crafting to turn the raw resources into money to buy more resources (and food, and other necessary items).

Mourn is a short but dangerous run away for some small restocking supply of ancient books and engineering schematics.
