Burn not spawning
After importing into a new game, I wanted to add another skeleton, so I headed over to burn's tower, which I thought had a guaranteed spawn for recruitment. However, he wasn't there. I tried more imports, reloading, importing in a different zone - he seems to be permanently gone, the tower is empty (i think he normally just goes between first floor and bedroom anyway). any condition that prevents his spawning?

Did you already hire him once? It's possible it's detecting the unique character in your party and preventing another copy from spawning.

Admittedly it's somewhat unlikely, as it never used to do this. But it's also a distinct possibility, and would make sense from a gameplay perspective.

hm, I may have in this game (I have a few running, trying different things) - I do have a skele with >10 stats in weapons I don't use - that could explain it, but yeah, I've never seen anything like that before

Yeah I recreuited the armor king ever since then he stopped spawning on imports doesnt matter since i could still steal from his place

hm, armor king? another unique recruitable? haven't come across him, i thought i'd explored everything

No way to recruit him without some kind of mod or exploit. But it does point to having recruited him previously being your issue.

ah okay. So I placed a character in each of the 5 towns with non-human bars, and did about a dozen save-import cycles, and no skeles spawned (well, none that I could hire). I didn't have that issue in other games, did the % for them get dropped in the .4 patch?

Its kinda an exploit just bring any npc to a private place then it will say they are commiting a crime then they will get arrested and you bail them out

I don't see a noticable difference. Any difference would be less than 1% change, if there even is one.

However, skeletons are already extremely rare. Rarer than any other type. So I'd say you simply got unlucky in that regard. Importing also doesn't always refresh the recruits, it often just spawns the ones who were already there again.

Did you check his bed? He will wander upstairs and sleep in his bed.

He is indeed a unique character, you could try a new game and see if he spawns then !

Not really unique. I have seen Burn be generated with a bunch of different names and it even changes the name of the tower.

The only thing that makes him semi-unique is the fact he only appears once per game, after that you need to import.

He's as unique as it can get. I'm not sure what you're thinking about, but he can definitely only be "Burn" and it can definitely only be "Burn's Tower". For that matter, random town names are not even possible from what I can tell.

For a few patches it was called "Ted's Tower", but it was renamed and Burn was added. I feel like you must be thinking of something else, or were using a mod that affected it.

I mean he is unique as in he has the unique attribute to true in the FCS :p
I don't know exactly what it means in game, but he should only spawn once for example.

I ran through a bunch of imports and it was X's Tower with X being the randomly generated name. Maybe a mod did affect it, who knows.

I'll confirm I had it named "ted's tower" after import to 93.4, also yeah... I've been bar hopping in a new playthrough as a skeleton and have yet to see another fellow skeleton in mongrol, wayrest and the hub despite around about 10+ checks (with importing and a few times with checking after waiting an in-game week away from town)
