Does the heavy weapon train strength without regard to the weight of what the character is moving with other than the weapon? / A guy with a 60lb sword carrying 60/70 pounds trains strength from that weapon at a lower rate than a guy with a 60 lb sword carrying 60/40 pounds?
So in your example, both characters would gain the same amount of strength from using the weapon. BUT the second character would level his strength faster overall, due to the passive walking xp.
EDIT:
For some reason, polearms train dex much slower despite it being 6kg only
Is that really how it works? In the tooltip for strength it gives two separate xp percentages that seem inversely proportional based on encumbrance. So if you're unemcumbered your percentage gain for combat is 100%, but your xp rate for walking will be 0%. Conversely if you are gaining xp for walking, you'll have a reduced percentage for combat. Is the tooltip lying about actual gains?
