and should be permanently fixed when the new patheing engine comes out.
until then use search as see if any of the solutions work for you.
In my time with an outpost it was the door of a random shack that everyone was obsessed with and would make a pilgrimage to touch it as part of their work routine.
When this bug is completely removed... I think they should add an expensive, gaudy, gilded, golden, gate with all kinds of idols and fancy things on it. It should function just like the bug where all your people will have a near religious obsession with touching it regularly.
My people need some form of "god" in this wasteland... and that gate or a door has always been their goto object of worship... without it they might be lost and turn cannibal.
I really enjoyed this. Never again will I get angry at my squad for delaying important tasks so they can touch the all mighty shack door. I really like the idea of idols or artifacts in kenshi. Imagine 2 clans fighting over a golden statue, or a weapon believed to be sacred. You should suggest this on the forum if it has not already been done!
a easter egg for those who remember the more entertaining bugs Kenshi has at the moment.
Wouldn't mind seeing one based on the catapult bug. now that would be funny.
or the invisible walls. have a character impersonate a Mime for a few seconds.
or a war Cry of "Super Crash!!!!"
I would even take a babbling hermit npc that lives in the mountains and tells cryptic stories of all the fun bugs we have experienced. Flying men and magic wall stories would really crack me up.
I like how this topic has gone, and seeing it in that perspective does make it a lot better. I wouldnt mind it if all they did was go and touch the gate, but opening it for all the bad guys to come in is just no good.
My guys never really had the OCD door handle thing going on but they did have an intense fixation with the steadily peeling paint across the door's surface. Meditating on it seemed to allow them to achieve a state of nirvana in which they no longer felt the urge to act or move or think in order to experience life. They would sit for hours like that. Doing nothing. Being alive and at one with the door. It was beautiful.
My personal vote for easter eggs is for the occasional mad man to wander the desert, babbling a stream of nonsense quotes sampled directly from the bugs forum. He only spawns in areas where there are no other people and he stops talking as soon as the player comes closer, staring absently at a point far off in the distance behind you. If you come within a few feet of him he gasps suddenly and falls to the ground--dead. In his inventory is an Undelivered Bug Report.
good one SoMeOnE_the_oDD
super crash should be legendary warrior that can be hired.
There are a lot of neat ideas here. Perhaps the game does need some sort of random events, like the fallout games had?
I did find it amusing that my people would make a pilgrimage to touch a shack door as a part of their work routines, but the suggestion that it should be added in as a special "idol" building piece was purely in jest.
I'm glad that the joke got peoples creativity going though and I have to say I actually like a lot of the suggestions people are making. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of hidden "easter eggs" in game that would only really be something understandable or special to those of us who've played the early development versions of this game.
