Preventing eating raw meat?
I tried searching but can't find an answer for this. Before I have a chance to cook meat my squad eats it out of their inventory. How do I make them not do that?

you could put it in a backpack and unequip that backpack and put it in the main inventory so they have no access to eat it. that will weigh you down though depending on how much raw meat you have.

i'm pretty sure they won't eat it unless they are starving, try keeping there hunger in the green (above 200) and having other options for food in the inventory

I had dried meat and raw meat in the inventory of a character. The raw meat vanished quickly. Looks like the code isn't making them choose dried meat first.

Shek and greenlanders don't eat raw meat. Give it to them and put it in their main inventory. As an aside, why are you taking time to cook? You can just throw down a campfire and cook it with that. It's actually better than a stove as it cooks automatically.

Two of my guys were in a coma so I wanted to get somewhere safe first.

There just needs to be an option that says "don't eat raw food unless you're starving." They were all over 200 hunger.

as someone who has hunger turned off: is there actually any penalty to eating raw meat?

Make a few campfires and turn raw into dried. Nets more money and your problem is solved.

I always play as a hunter first so on my way back to town I place 5 campfires somewhere and do this with all the meat I got. Disassemble the campfires afterwards.

There's no penalty to eating raw meat. Just less squaddies will actually eat it. Would be cool if there was sickness in the game.

I can't cook the food because the characters eat it up fast as soon as I get it in their inventories.

Can you still not stop a new character from eating raw meat???

I just found better food (cubes) and am trying to save the raw meat for starving collapsed dog, but human is eating the raw meat and not the 'better' cubes, WTH!?!
I do not have a backpack yet.

Yes, it is a thread necro, live with it. It seems to be an ongoing problem...

Unfortunately characters will always eat eligible restricted food items first, to save normal ones for those who can't.

Shouldn't really matter though in your case. Same amount of nutrition will be eaten in the same time frame regardless.
