Must have mods?
What are your must have mods (of any sort). I'm thinking about restarting and I want to have the most immersive play possible. I'd like to know other peoples must have mods.

"flies arent annoying me anymore" Because the sound of flies around corpses can be stuck with you whereever you are.

"Better Crop fences" Because when you build them and its surrounded by gras foliage they become REALLY hard to see

If you dont install it on SSD :

Compressed Textures project. To be fair even if you have it on SSD.

Particle fix also helps with performance.

I got it on SSD and use both.

Maaaaybe Slopeless mod so you can actually draw the walls around your base as you want it.

Imho dont get "Reactive World" it broke basicly everything for me all the time and i had to import my save way to much.

"Fix Clipping Issues" if you look close

Thats my "must have" mods

Ohh and more loading screens is super nice.. kind of must have kind of not.

The ones before Slopeless i would say are absolute must have mods.

Strongly disagree Reactive world is arguably one of the most stable overhaul mod out there, and it never crashed on me.

OP, I would recommend to get the scar's pathfinding fix .

When i used it i had crashes every hour and so many trader npcs got stuck all the time i had to import savegame every hour too.

Since its gone only 1 more crash in 12 hours of gameplay and no more stuck npc´s

I guess everyone has different experiences

Also instant install on the mod you mentioned haha

My guess would have to be your crashes were caused by the Distant Towns feature, a common source of vanilla crashes which Reactive World would have exacerbated since it adds many new town entries that would have needed meshes generated. The Distant Towns crashes don't affect everyone, but those who it does affect essentially have to turn the system off to avoid them.

Can't really speculate much about the NPCs without knowing more about who they were, what they were trying to do, and where they got stuck.

Ahh thanks a lot.. distant towns is something i have actually activated and didnt know

Thanks ( nvm i just checked i dont have it activated *shrug* )

Well about the trader it was this one : https://i.imgur.com/y9vkEyR.jpeg
The one in Squin which sells all kind of goods for crafting and such
At his stuck position. I even went into dev mode and deleted the walls around him. He was still stuck.

But to be fair i dont need this figured out.. first playthrough for now and it works very good now even without that overhaul

For me its 100% slopeless. Its stupid that otherwise you cant place buildings almost anywhere without them being tilted. There are barely any flat surfaces in the map and you often want to use terrain features and shapes for base building. For me thats the only mod I would not play the game with. I think its pretty immersion breaking that anyone would build a building with a sloped floor and tilted walls...

-Less clutter. Helps a lot with framerate and to also have more npcs on screen. You won't notice the difference visually after a while but you'll always notice the smooth frames.

-Adventurer's guild if you want a lore friendly way of building up a sizeable force.

-Moar Unique Dialogue. Fleshes out unique recruits in meaningful and believable ways, also adds new recruits with their own unique things to say, and ALSO makes certain previously unrecruitable npcs recruitable through unique and very creative ways. Great mod. To that extent also get Seto Dialogue Overhaul, because Seto best girl.

-Tents. Just adds tents, some that fit up to 5 characters, useful for big parties.

-Ration Packs Expanded. Lets you make four new kinds of ration packs, great for long distance trekking if you get the means to make them.

-Forgotten Buildings. Adds in almost all previously unbuildable buildings from around the game world through research. Be careful though, some of them are buggy, I wouldn't recommend putting turrets on most of the walls and buildings added since gunners have a habit of falling through the walls on reloading a save. Building inside them should be safe though, user experience may vary so experiment.

-Deep drill mining. You're gonna get annoyed with resource collecting at some point and just gonna want to play the game. Mods like this that lets you get stuff anywhere or plant anywhere remove the headache.

-Make Holy Nation Great Again. Incredible overhaul to the Holy Nation, gives them some awesome armor variation, beefs up their combat capabilities, and makes their numbers a serious advantage for them. It's not just a strength boost for them though it's great.

-Hives Expanded. Just get it.

-Legendary of Kenshi. Keep this in your back pocket when you get tired of handing out the ass whoopings and want to receive them for a change.

-Thrashers, foulhounds and grievewraiths, get em all.

-Lost in the Ashlands. Adds so much depth to the game. Faction raids on cities, player bases, on newly added faction fortresses, play as a mercenary for one of the main factions etc. Really makes kenshi feel like it's in a state of war. Also adds in a couple wip unique game starts with a bit of story component, namely the pit fighter and prisoner starts. Check the page out, features are all there.

-Robotics addon. If you end up throwing a ton of equipment mods in, you'll want to be able to craft the higher end components needed, you might need this.

-More plastic surgeons. Pure QOL

-More idle Animation. Pure Style

-More Combat Animation. Pure Cool

-More bounties. Makes bounty hunting as an occupation more feasible, putting a higher chance of a fat bounty on roving groups of enemies.

-Swish mods: The east coast and the hook expansions, respectively. These are incorporated into Genesis I think but I don't use Genesis. These still work fine and add a lot to otherwise empty parts of the map. Maybe pass on avalon isle, people say it's buggy.

-Pocket Change (Harsh). You might find cats or a string of cats on defeated npcs. Just makes sense.

-Cannibals expanded. Too good, just get it, same thing for shrieking bandits expanded, unless you think it's too silly looking

-Fist weapons of kenshi. Martial arts isn't all that people say it is, martial artists are best in a group of melee users, these can help beef em up a bit.

-Reduced weather effects. The rain can get kind of hard to see through in some places, this helps.

-Shops have more blueprints+. Blueprint hunting is a pain in the butt and a waste of time. This helps cut down on that.

-Shops have more items +. Don't see a reason some shops can't have large inventories, also helps you find what you're looking for more easily.

-Nice Map [Zones + Zone names + Roads]. My personal choice of map, the visual feedback is nice, I think it needs a bit of finagling to work with compressed texture project.

-Jewey's limb overhaul. The only equipment mod I'll recommend, adds some pretty powerful limbs that can be researched or bought, with legendary versions that need components from some bosses to be able to research. It works well in conjunction with a difficulty mod.

-Race blood. just looks better than everything bleeding red.

After that would just be race mods like RLBS or the hive mutant or the ironsides, but that gets into mods that need patches for other mods and I'd rather tell you about mods that work pretty much out the box, you can decide if you want to get more into it. Same for equipment mods, weapons and armor, but more because they can affect how you see the game since npc's might start showing up wielding them.
