How to mark a location with a red marker?

Many locations change their icon and name to red after they have been surveyed. It is very convenient to understand what has already been searched and what has not. But some remain "white", most often these are ruins with all kinds of rubbish. How can I fix this? Maybe you need to pick up all the garbage from the location, or what's the trick? The switch to red is just an indicator that the faction that owns the place is hostile to you. Not all "ruin" factions are hostile, so their map icon don't turn red when explored, so they stay white which is the colour for neutral and unknown.

There isn't really a trick to triggering it, as you'll simply not be able to for some of them.

So that's the point. And I'm running around, scouring the corners, I thought maybe I missed some chest and therefore the location is not marked in red. You saved me from long hours of wandering
