Fastest way to gain Toughness?
I found a way to cheese Toughness... took about a day to hit 90 Toughness.
Anyone know a faster way?

Apart from getting into the almost endless loop of getting up and going unconscious near a bandit camp, getting your limbs get nibbled on by fogmen or getting your limbs cut off?

I guess there is the peeler machine.

Pretty much what I did. Got no limbs (Good 'ol Torsolo). Provoked a Leviathan that was stuck on rocks and simply took my skeleton legs off which knocks you unconscious then put em back on and get up from playing dead and repeat. If you have no skeleton arms on either you get 6x toughness xp.

Peeler does not increase toughness.

There is a beast called something raptor. It is vegetarian , so even if you got beat up. It won't eat you. Just keep charging them.

Their att is too low. Anyway toughness is actually not that important unless you're ma, don't worry about it, it's just something old players like to do. The more important thing is melee defense. Blocking an attack completely is always better than being able to take more hits. All in all, just keep fighting!

Honestly I'd say toughness is way more important. Probably the most important stat for combat.

The difference in damage you receive at level 1 vs level 100 is insane. A level 1 will take nearly 5x the damage. And that's without factoring in armour.

Then you've got the other effects. Wound degeneration speed is based on toughness, which means you bleed out faster. It also lowers your KO point, meaning you have a better chance of waking up and being able to heal yourself. And finally it increases your stagger threshold, which means when hit you're not left open to attacks as long.

All that said, in my opinion it's not something you should grind. No stat is honestly. Game is far more enjoyable personally when you just let stats come naturally. Besides, getting to a decent toughness level happens really quick anyway, because of how the exp scaling works for it.

There is a slow but constant/passive way to grind up your toughness. For bio races, wear assassin rags and punch a skeleton on a repair bed, you will apparently train str/dex/tou/ma at the same time, but gets slower and slower.

If you are a mech race, go get ♥♥♥♥ on by cannibals or fogman, it is much faster but requires you to be actively stop playing dead.

There's a certain, very specific, Gorillo that I use to rapid train toughness, defense, and offense. Within a short timeframe (Real life time), maybe less than a day, it's possible to get something like 90+ def and toughness, and 50+ attack. You can also train multiple pawns at once this way.

At this point though, it's more useful just to get a training dummy mod that lets you train to 100+.
