Kenshi
Is anyone else overwhelmingly losing their RIGHT LEGS?
Just in my game, that no matter the armour worn, my characters might be well defended but they're always taking damage to the right leg first and foremost, and losing their right legs first. To the point where the last battle it was so bizarre, in my squad of 9, 5 of them were left crippled with no right leg while the rest had severely damaged right legs alongside all their other injuries.
I have no idea as to why this is happening but it's just a rather annoying occurrence.

Well, assuming it's not random chance, then odds are you've got a mod affecting it. It's very easy for a mod to alter the hit chances of limbs.

But in vanilla both legs are equal chance uninjured. And I've done rigorous testing to confirm the chances do line up. Though, if one is injured it's going to be more likely to be hit, that's true for any body part.

If it happens with no mods, then I'd suggest uploading your save. I could take a look at the save data and see, as the hit chances of your body parts and the multipliers to them are saved in it.

I always thought that the targeted limb was more a result of which attack animation was used, or rather certain attacks prioritize certain body parts, And this might also be affected by your orientation to your enemy.

Maybe sheer coincidence, but I distinctly remember a scenario in which I was trying to lose limbs for the purposes of cybernetics, where laying down in the prone position and crawling away from the enemy seemed to guarantee leg trauma. Take that with a grain of salt I guess.

different races have different hit chances on certain limbs, like hivers having 60 hit chance on stomach when others have it much higher, but every race has a lower hit chance on their right arm since they use it to fight so idk why your right leg, could be something to do with armor coverage or just pure coincidence

For me this only really happens in the Fog Islands, I'm sure it's just me noticing more than anything but I swear those Fogmen smash your legs in with their iron bars more often than any other body part.

Makes sense considering their shtick, but yeah.

Also I often notice when people are downed and crawling away, the game very rarely lets them be mercy KOd with a quick hit to the core parts, and instead often lets attacks towards them hit their broken legs and arms, rapidly causing them to become chopped off.

Probably just me again, but like calm down! You can go for the KO blow, you don't need to sever both legs and an arm, c'mon man!

That's probably the damaged part targeting I mentioned. Basically, there is this multiplier for each body part's hit chances, and the more damaged it is, the higher the multiplier. At least until it hits 0 hp, then it starts reversing.

But, when it's freshly broken, it will still have a very high multiplier to the chance of being hit. So freshly crippled people will often have their broken limbs beat up some more, before they're finally hit enough elsewhere to get taken down.

That's interesting, never knew it worked like that. Also explains away some frustration when you get popped in the stomach or chest in combat when fighting a group and then every other hit seems to target those areas specifically, so you quickly lose a fight you had a chance of winning, lol. Neat.

If I wasn't dead inside before playing Kenshi, I was afterwards. There's only so many times you can watch your squad beating a crippled Hungry Bandits' broken legs in with iron bars while they crawl away helplessly until someone strikes them in the chest or something, finishing them off.

I mean, it's probably extra XP, but..

Sometimes I wish you could tell your squad members where to aim...but I suppose you're not meant to have total control over their actions. Otherwise you could just tell them to use big sweeping AoEs exclusively too, lol. Still, it'd be nice if like selecting "BLOCK" you could also toggle between "KILL" and "MAIM" to slightly influence core hits or limb hits...I dunno.

Those samurai sergeants that don't wear a helmet are just begging for a shot to the face, instead of being spanked in the chest to unconsciousness, right? :greenrollball:

Now imagining Kenshi but with the limb targeting system from Vagrant Story.
