Lol that shack in my game is abandoned. It wasn't always but for some reason when I tried to come to their aid against some bandits (thought I could gain some rep with the trade ninjas) the guards turned on me. They're OP so I kited them back to the thieves in Hub to deal with. I thought the barman would get new guards but he never did. One day I go to trade there and the barman is gone. I assume he was killed by bandits or hauled off by the slavers. So I looted the crap outta the place and now it's just scenery.
I love this game.
That shack has a weird bug where sometimes the NPCs are not there.
You used to be able to trade. I used to run this route:
Blister Hill
Stack
Lone Shack
Hive
Hub
Squin
Waystation
Admag
Hive
Something changed a about when crossbows came out that evened out the values so much that it is like you said mostly a loss or not enough profit worth doing.
I also added a merchant to The Hub that sells hunting crossbows that have bonus damage against certain animals. The idea there is the ability to defend against wildlife as you travel around carrying your goods. Like I made animal hides cheaper in the hive villages if I remember right, or if I don't remember right I'll make that change later, so you might be going over there more often.
