Did these characters have room for the seal in their pockets? Only reason I can imagine them not being given it.
Also important to note, the seal is not consumed on use. It can be used infinitely, though I believe there is a cooldown.
Okay, so after reading your answer I just went all the way back and loaded a previous save before my meeting with the Phoenix, blessed be his name, and this time when he gave me the Holy Seal I did receive it in my inventory. Its just a 1x1 grey square with no actual image of anything though, is this normal? When I mouse over it it says "Holy Seal....blah blah etc etc".
And yes, I had enough room in my inventory before. Sometimes with this game we will never know exactly why certain things do and dont work hahaha. :P
Im curious though, how long will the Paladins follow me when I ask for help? Im assuming half of a day or something... It was given to me when we were speaking about attacking the Golem / Flotsam Ninjas so I assumed they would need to at least follow me long enough to run to Admag/ Flotsam vilage. If not, its pretty worthless lol.
The way the Holy Seal looks in my inventory, the 1x1 square with no actual graphic image of an item, I found another item that does the same thing. It was in a Nobles House and theyre called Coins... the description is: Trading material based on one of the old civilizations monetary systems. It only has a value of 60, but I hadnt seen these anywhere else before so I took them. Do they serve any purpose? If not ill just drop em :)
Thank you so much for all your help too. You are by far, without a doubt the best moderator I have ever seen on any Steam game discussion board. You are very active and very helpful. Many thanks to you (:

As for how long it lasts, it should be for 36 in-game hours that they follow you. With the possibility to extend it based on what is happening at the time it expires, generally if in a fight or if you are downed they will extend it to help out.
I also note the cooldown triggers even if you do not ask them to help. Simply initiating the dialog where you can ask for help will start the 6 in-game hour cooldown. So you probably had it the first time and didn't notice due to the icon, and then after you initiated the dialog you were in the cooldown phase, so you couldn't trigger it again.
And thank you for the kind words, I'm happy to help. :)
Edit: Oh yeah, the coin things from the nobles. No they serve no purpose. They are technically supposed to be a money item that adds 1 cat, but their function isn't set correctly, so they are just a worthless piece of metal.
