Or at least, if they do it was very VERY recently added.
They do great damage to unarmored areas though.
Really? The ingame tooltip for the Spring Bat says that it was designed to penetrate "heavy armor of dominating forces" (something like that) so i assumed some weapons had stronger armor pen that others...
But if you shoot one at someone wearing armor, it has no difference vs any other except Eagle Cross.
Shidan confirmed it back in the day, the game doesn't actually have armor pen.
The tooltip is just fluff to give the bow a reason to exist and carry a different bolt.
Unsure what the values are for them though, if they even have them.
They still feel like they don't have any pen. But, I trust you on the numbers.
Melee weapons have a positive or negative "armour penetration"value e.g. a Nodachi has "armour penetration" -0.2 (Which matches the description)
There is no armour penetration value on any crossbow or crossbow bolt.
ie if my crossbow does 100 damage and hits body part with 25harpoon resistance then i will take 100-25=75 damage to that location.
If so then higher damage crossbows will do more damage per shot per location but lower dps, assuming the target is protected while lower damage faster fireing crossbow will achieve higher overall dps against unprotected but potentially across a number of different body locations and less overall damage against armour.
Personally i prefer to lightly pepper my opponents if going for ranged support, i hate loosing a character because one of my own exploded his head while training his precision.
