Different music and such
Since music in Kenshi is rather rare I want to ask what music are you listening to while playing?
I myself tend to listen to RPG playlist and post apocalyptic music.
Share your type of music, that let's you sink into the game guys ;>

In the options menu you can adjust how often music plays in Kenshi. The sound track can be annoying however given that half the "music" is literally loud droning sounds that can cause minor hearing damage.

Sometimes I will play music that is orchestrated. The good stuff.

Though most the time since I tend to multitask I will also be watching shows & playing Kenshi at the exact same time since I am not one who gets "immersed".

I listen to 40's Junction on Sirius XM. Not just while playing Kenshi, pretty much all the time (grew up in the city, now living in the country, I NEED background noise to keep myself sane). Sometimes classical and orchestras.

When I want to feel nostalgic then I'll throw in a mix of the music I grew up with, 70s and 80s rock, punk, synth and some metal and industrial thrown in for variety.

Sometimes I'll turn the in-game music down completely then play the games' soundtrack on shuffle/loop on my PC.
If there's gratuitous amounts of violence involving Melee weapons, there's only one song you need to play on loop until time ends.

I just run all bought tracks from Crusader Kings 2 in steam music player. I am lazy, I could add them to winamp and make a playlist.
They are kind of medieval/tribal, few are heavy metal which I personally like, and all of them are like background music.

J-EDM. Why not.

The game has some great music, and setting the frequency to 1 as mentioned before solves the delay, but ya you either have to set the music volume so low you can't hear most of it, or deal with the deafening speaker shattering tones of several tracks.

Welcome to that 1 annoying track club:-)
That particular one has been subject of debate for ages, I still haven't found the way to lower its level....most of people seem not to mind of it, apparently because they listen to other music.
I love Kenshi's tracks, they are so spot-on with the game....except the levels of that one!;-)
