Problem with stealing.

I just started a new game (yet again lol) with the HN citizen start. I tried to steal some food while stealthed from a barrel upstairs of the bar.

I was in full sun but the eye said noone was looking. As soon as I take anything (says 100% chance of stealing) I am caught by the gaurd who is Directly below me. There is no possible way he could see me through the floor.


I have tried several times to steal from shops (mostly top floor stuff with noone looking) but everytime I am seen by someone through a wall or even 2.

I am on experimental so might just be a bug but just letting you know it might be something to look into.

In all my playtime, I have yet to do a stealing run, decided to try it and this happens, so to me stealing is not even an option.

Not sure if it's a bug or since I am starting with no steal skills, the gaurds have x-ray vision..lol

Most of the weird stealing experiences i have encountered have been afterwards, like I rob the store blind, and then on the way out of town the alarm gets raised and I get chased.

How high was your stealth and stealing skills?

They weren't high. I just started a new world.

I Just started over because I suspect the world was corrupted. I tried the mesh fix and import but the town gate was even still up in the air making it very hard to get through it. Had to scroll past the gate and click outside the area to get past or back into the town.

Luckily it was a brand new start just checking out the new starts so nothing really lost.

I had a different bug maby? knock out both gaurd and shop keeps (not kill) so my stealing chance is 100 percent unimpeded right, so i steal as much as character can fit in bag etc then leave but when i came back to the shop after leaveing the town and cmeing back agian theres no guard or shop keep and all the items that litter shops are now grey highlighted when pressing alt instead of red i.e there unowned and up for legal grabs

also when your on the top floor does it say 100 percent chance when you move the curser over the item? if not then any thing less will alert gaurds etc even if threw walls or on the second or even third floor of a building
