Is there any romance in this game?
Either with companions or with other characters in the world?

While I wouldn't call it romance exactly, but certain unique NPC characters that you can recruit do have interactions with each other. I don't want to spoil anything but it is definitely worth going out and recruiting them when you find them. :-)

There certainly is a romance in the game. It involves an angry robot and a drone. Sadly you cannot participate in it, but you can make it happen.

The game is mostly a 'sandbox' RTS survival resource management game. Not a social open world RPG.

So I've been scouring through the official lawbooks governing 'sandbox' RTS survival resource games, and so far, I've found no reason why a 'sandbox' RTS survival resource management game can't have romances.

I'm not saying you're making this up, but... could you provide a citation, showing where it states that there shall be no romances in S-RTS-SRGs?

The closest you can get is the 18+ female bodies mod with the 2 sleep in one camping bed mod

Beep is a worker Drone, so I think having little Beeps is out to the question. No sense in romance.

I know how a lot of people use games to live out their pervert fantasies and that's usually why romances are desired.

I could be wrong in this situation though.
