i think its a weight for how much work... doesn't mean much i think it says the actual amount in the bottom left... should say something like 1xfabric 6xiron plates.

Its literally what it says, if its 0.2 fabric cost, then 1 fabric can make 5 shirts.

If something required 0.5 Fabric, 1.5 Leather, then ingredients cost will say 1 Fabric, 2 Leather, but in reality 1 fabric 3 Leather would make 2 of them.

Ingredients are rounded up to nearest whole number

Material cost is cost of whatever the main material is.
Fabric cost is the cost of fabric regardless of the main material.
If the main material is fabric add the two together for the actual fabric cost.

Ah, that makes sense. So the fabrics cost is an additive value. Could be seen as something like "thread" or whatever. Thanks!

But the bit I figured about multiplying the ingredients (with the X multiplier) by the material cost is correct, right? Just add extra fabric to that value.
Not sure what you mean by multiplying cost.
If something has 1 material cost, 0.2 fabric cost for example, if it's made at a clothing bench it costs 1.2 fabric, if it's made at a leather bench it costs 1 leather, 0.2 fabric, if it's made at an armour bench it's 1 armour plate, 0.2 fabric.

If any real doubt just test it, 1 fabric is one full green bar, craft and watch how much of green bar is used

0.2 material literally means 0.2. In the case you mentioned it means 1 fifth of 1 fabric to make 1 shirt. 1 whole fabric unit will make 5 shirts. If you just start crafting a shirt and watching it craft it will become clear and obvious.

The samurai clothpants are bugged and should not be craftable on the clothing bench. If you craft them using the leatherworking bench then the correct material cost is used, which is, leather + fabrics. So its up to you if u want to use all fabrics to make them, or a mix of fabric + leather on the leather station. The result is exactly the same.
