Now, before I set out to travel, I select all of my people and turn the 'job' button off. When I return to an area with jobs to do, I turn the 'job' button back on.
This is also useful for when you want to round up everyone in your city to defend/repair the gate and don't want them to turn back and start mining again while the gate is being destroyed.
Hate to Necro BUT....this isnt true. I have characters all with jobs and ditching OFF and they still run to drop things while doing tasks
